THE GUIDE FOR PERFECT SHOES 

Cuando compré mi primer par de zapatos Carolina Herrera (en una propuesta inegable en black friday jaja) llegué a mi casa y la primera pregunta que vino a mi mente no fue con que me los pongo? (me los pensaba poner con todo!) sino ¿Cómo los cuido? ¿Dónde los guardo? ¿Qué hagooo?
Nadie nunca nos enseña como cuidar los zapatos correctamente, así que decidí compilar los tips que he probado y los que realmente me han ayudado a tener los zapatos impecables siempre.

When I bought my first pair of Carolina Herrera shoes (couldn´t say no to a black friday sale!!!) I arrived home and the first question that came to my mind wasn’t what should I wear them with? (I was planning to wear them with everything lol) but how should I take care of them?

No one really teaches us how to take correct care of shoes, so I decided to gather the best tips that I tried and worked to have perfect shoes always. 

EN TU CASA

No uses el mismo par de zapatos dos días seguidos. Si no tienes opción aplica talco en la noche para que absorba las partículas de sudor.

Tenía la idea equivocada de que los tines solo se usaban con tennis, pero no! usarlos con flats y zapatos de tacón ayudan a absorber el sudor, a que tu piel no roce con el zapato (y maltrates ambos, tus pies y la parte interior de los zapatos) y en algunos casos, el anti-derrapante que tienen te da mayor “agarre” para que tu pie no resbale dentro del mismo.

Hay varios lugares donde puedes conseguir tines de todos colores, pero uno de mis favoritos ha sido Miniso

AT HOME

Don’t use the same pair of shoes two days in a row. If you don’t have other options, then put some foot powder in them at night for it to absorb humidity and sweat.

I got the wrong idea that wearing foot covers/footies were only suitable for sneakers but I was wrong! Using them with flats and heels help to absorb sweat and avoid your skin to be rubbing the shoe. Some of these foot covers have anti-skid on the lower part so your foot doesn’t slip inside your shoe.

There are many places where you can find these foot covers, but one of my favorites is Miniso

 

EN EL COCHE

Toma un par de flats que ya estén usados y déjalos en el coche. Cuando manejes cambia tus tacones por ellos. El roce con el tapete del coche les va quitando el brillo y desgasta el material de la parte de atrás de tu zapatos y tacones.

Lleva en tu cajuela unas botas de lluvia sobretodo en esta temporada. Hay muchos materiales que no vuelven a quedar igual una vez mojados. Mujer prevenida… tiene sus zapatos siempre secos.

IN THE CAR  

Leave an old pair of flats in your car. When you are ready to drive change your heels for these flats. The rug rubbing with the back of your shoe affects its shine and the material can be damaged. 

Also, leave a pair of rain boots in your trunk when the rainy season is on. There are many materials that will never be the same once wet. “Always prepared, glamorous and dry”

CUANDO VIAJAS

Cada vez que compres un par de zapatos pregunta si tienen bolsa de tela. Con ellas puedes protegerlos en tu maleta. Que las bolsas de plástico sean tu última opción. La tinta en algunas bolsas puede manchar tus zapatos o el plástico pegarse en materiales como el charol y dejar lineas indeseables.

ON A TRIP 

Every time you buy a pair of shoes ask if they can give you a cloth bag. These will come very handy when you travel. Plastic bags are NOT an option. Ink printed on them can stain your shoes or the plastic itself might get stuck on materials like patent leather and leave undesirable lines.
